GPOP Conference – April 20-21, 2026 (Ottawa, ON)

Each year, GPOP partners with Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) to host our own conference as a part of the greater annual CICan conference. This year, the GPOP conference will take place on April 20-21, 2026 in beautiful Ottawa. We will meet day one at the Microsoft head office and day two at the downtown Westin hotel. Here is a sneak peek at what we have planned:

Day One (April 20)

  • Opening Remarks, Introductions, Land Acknowledgement, Ice Breaker
  • Keynote Speakers Scott Mayer and Joshua Ratnasamy: Artificial Intelligence – The Use of AI in Higher Education
  • GPOP Networking Lunch
  • Keynote Speaker Stephane Grenier: The Power of Lived Experience
  • Roundtable Sessions
  • Closing Remarks and Adjournment
  • GPOP Evening Progressive Dinner at 6:00pm (Johnny Farina, 216 Elgin Street)

Day Two (April 21)

  • Optional: Morning Walking Tour / Café Stop
  • Opening Remarks & Welcome CICan President Pari Johnston
  • Guest Speaker Michael MacDonald: Government Relations
  • Roundtable Sessions
  • 2026 Awards
  • Closing Remarks

The Conference Committee works diligently to provide a conference packed with learning opportunities that members can take back to their campuses and apply directly to their roles. We want to thank our Conference Committee for all their efforts working to put on a great event for members of GPOP.

Annual General Meeting

As outlined in our by-laws, GPOP holds an AGM for all members, on a date determined by the Board of Directors, usually around the end of May.

The 2026 GPOP AGM meeting is set for May 26, 2026 at 12:00pm EST. More details will be shared with members prior to the meeting however please mark your calendars now!
